During the Period of National Mourning following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II (Sept 9th-18th), the Chapel Royal will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm daily for people to come in for prayers, quiet reflection and the lighting of candles.
The Chapel Royal coffee shop is open from 10 am to 1 pm every Saturday for tea, coffee, cake, scones, sandwiches.
Some say it’s the best value in Brighton!
We work in partnership with local charities to help the charities raise funds. There is a different charity each month. Please click the charities’ links to find out about each one and do come to enjoy coffee and cake and to talk with them.
We provide the premises and the refreshments and an experienced volunteer from Chapel Royal supports the running of the morning.
Our partner charity provides staffing, that is one or two volunteers each Saturday morning in their month. We invite the charity to bring displays of their work, banners, leaflets etc., to raise their profile in the community. A display stays in the church for the whole month. At the end of the month the charity takes the profits (after expenses for ingredients).
We also have a helper from the Outlook Foundation for learning disabled young people.
The coffee shop is an important part of our outreach ministry at the Chapel Royal, and helps us:
