The Chapel Royal offers weddings, baptisms, christenings and funerals. To enquire further about any of these services, please contact the Chapel at:
Those who live within the Chapel Royal Parish Boundary, and those people whose names are on the Electoral Roll, by virtue of having worshipped here regularly for at least six months, are entitled to be married in the Chapel.
In addition, people who have a strong personal association with the Parish, but who for some good reason cannot fulfil the other criteria, may apply for an Archbishop's Special Licence to marry here.
Divorce is no longer an impediment to marriage in church. If one or other of you has been married before, your situation will be considered in a personal interview, following the guidelines provided by the General Synod of the Church of England.
Enquiries are welcome from people wishing to discuss the possibility of a service of thanksgiving following a civil marriage or the celebration of an anniversary; and we are happy to welcome those in civil partnerships who wish to come to church for prayers.

We are delighted to baptise people who live in our parish or who are regular worshipping members of our congregation at the Chapel Royal. They may be infants or adults.
Baptism
In the Church of England, baptism is understood as the beginning of a lifelong journey with God and of a Christian faith, which continues for the rest of our lives. It looks forward to the development of a person's relationship with a loving God, through membership of the Christian Church. It requires of those bringing children for baptism to make a commitment to regular worship, a willingness to learn more about prayer and Christian faith, and to living as a Christian. Baptism is also a time for celebration, a time to come together with family and friends; remembering that your child is loved by God, is part of a wider community and has a place with God's people. Baptisms take place as part of our church service.
Baptism is recognised as a preparation for eventual Confirmation, which normally takes place around the age of fifteen. Adults who have not previously been baptised may be prepared for both Baptism and Confirmation at a special service conducted by a bishop.

It may be possible to arrange a funeral Mass or a simpler service at the Chapel Royal. Please enquire through the church office or ask your funeral director to do so on your behalf.
Unfortunately, there is no churchyard at the Chapel Royal for burials.
